How to Buy the Perfect Pair of Jeans
For most men a pair of good jeans is essential. They wear them whenever they get the chance. Today, jeans are worn for practically every occasion, but it has not always been that way.
This durable item of clothing has been around for nearly 150 years. For the first 80 years they were only really worn by workmen. It took the 1950s teenager to start the trend of wearing them outside the workplace. Today, every age group wears them. Being able to buy a pair that fits well is an essential skill, which is why we have created this post.
Choose a style you like
Jean styles come and go, and do so very quickly. Last year, skinny jeans were all the rage. For 2017, the straight-cut is back in vogue.
If you like the latest styles, by all means buy them. However, you really do not have to worry too much about wearing the very latest jean fashion. The truth is that most men ignore the latest trends and opt to wear the style they feel most comfortable wearing. Therefore, if you do the same you will not look out of place.
Buy the right waist size
One mistake a lot of men make is buying jeans that are too loose around the waist. If you do that, over the course of the day, the waistband will stretch slightly and your jeans will slip down your body by a couple of centimetres. When that happens they will no longer hang well, and will not look good. If you can put more than two fingers into the waistband, buy the next size down.
Know your leg length
If you can, buy the correct length. Of course, you can have jeans taken up, but they never look quite right when you do that.
Watch the detailing
Look at the detailing. We all like pockets, but you need to be aware that the eye of anyone who is looking at you will automatically be drawn to that area of your body. So, if you do not like your butt, it is best to buy jeans that do not have rear pockets.
Test for freedom of movement
When you try your jeans on take the time to view yourself from all angles. Bend down as if you are picking something up off the ground. Then sit on a chair to make sure that your jeans stay in place, and are comfortable. If they cut into you, in any area, reject them.
Perfect jeans need cost a fortune
Fortunately, you do not have to spend a fortune to be able to buy the perfect pair of jeans. As you can see here there is plenty of choice available from mainstream retailers. You do not need to spend a fortune on designer jeans, to get the perfect cut. Jeans are such an important wardrobe staple that most of retailers stock them. It is in their interests to sell good quality jeans to their customers, so that they will keep coming back to buy from them.
