Woman struck and killed by car in Scarborough

A woman in her 40s is dead after being struck by a car in Scarborough.

Police were called to the intersection of Kingston Road and Warden Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Paramedics say the woman was absent vital signs and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the motorist fled the scene of the accident but was arrested a short distance away.
