Toronto Star’s Santa Claus Fund passes new fundraising goal on Christmas Eve

The Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund surpassed its new goal of 1.6 million on Christmas Eve.

As of Thursday, the total figure raised stood at $1,600,744. This huge sum stands testament to the incredible generosity of Star readers, who identify with the mission with which publisher Jospeh Atkinson estabilished the fund in 1906.

As mentioned in our series of articles about the fund, this significant amount helps the Star bring smiles to the faces of countless children who would not have otherwise gotten a gift on Christmas day.

Awed by our readers’ kindness, the Star has decided to keep the fund going until the end of this year, to maximize our efforts of bringing happiness to children in need during the holidays.
