Some People Ended Up Having More Sex Over The Last 12 Months, Thanks To The Pandemic

Mostly swiping left on dating apps, for 29-year-old Megha, the coronavirus pandemic didn't take a toll on her sex life. Instead, "I ended up having regular sex with multiple partners (one at a time), even during the pandemic."

Megha lives alone in her South Delhi apartment and has been active on multiple dating apps for a few years now. While "the initial few months of the lockdown right after the pandemic struck were hard" on her, things started to look up once the lockdown was lifted people began moving.

"I live alone and while I end up partying with my friends quite often, which thankfully keeps my social life active, a little company for keeping my sexual life active doesn't harm," she chuckles.

When asked if at any point she was apprehensive of meeting new people, Megha cheekily mentions that not everyone qualifies for a meet-up.

"There are many checkbox items that must be ticked before I finally decide to meet someone -- does the guy live alone or with parents, how often are they stepping out, how many people they are meeting are some of the important conversations I make sure to have with them. After all, we both must agree to common ground rules because COVID safety is paramount."

Dating apps kept youngsters hooked to their smartphones during the pandemic.

Thirty-two-year-old Reema Singh has a similar story to tell. She remained active on dating apps to kill boredom during the pandemic because "just working from home and having virtual meet-ups with friends was becoming mundane."
